Yes it has been awhile since my last post! So many changes in our lives I do not know where to begin. I will start with how excited I am that its almost summer! Woohoo the school year has been quite the ride. My grandson Mateo lives with us now and boy does he keep me busy! Johnny graduates from Fresno state in May and I am so proud of him! He also professed his walk with Christ and got baptized this past Sunday. Great things are in store for him in the future! The heat has struck us early this year and its already in the nineties. A cool down and some rain are both on the way. This weekend is the annual Clovis Rodeo. A huge weekend in what used to be a small town but its growing everyday.
Some of the summer fun we had (summer 2015) were trips to the beach, a week in Sacramento just me and husband, and of course a week in San Diego and I was able to bring Mateo on this trip. We were able to take him to Lego Land and he loved it! Mateo is a crazy lego fan and Lego Land was amazing. We saw some good movies, hung out at Aunt Kay's pool and drank lots of margaritas! Thats just a little tid bit of the past summer. I will post some pictures of the year as well! Until we I write again!!

Where did December go?
Tomorrow is New Years Eve and I'm thinking to myself..... where did December go? It completely flew by this year. I guess due to all the hustle and bustle of Christmas the time flies by. Just finished putting away Christmas decorations. Its always bitter sweet. However I'm already thinking about decor for next year! What a hoot! I was so fortunate to have my grandson with us on Christmas this year so what a joy to view Christmas through a child's eyes once again. I love the innocence and the excitement as we counted the days until Santa's arrival. Even Johnny my 21 year old son seemed to share in the excitement of Santa as well! You are never to old to BELIEVE! Well Happy New Year to all!

Gotta Love Kindergarteners!
Well one of my students said to me "Mrs. Martin I have a crush on you!" I had to laugh it was so cute! So much love a 5 year old can give and it never gets old! This reminds me of my class last year. I had the best most huggable class! I see them as first graders and they still gives mounds of hugs!

Another hot day in September!
Still hot in California as we approach the first day of fall! We are supposed to have a cool down in the low nineties......so excited!!! We learned about the fairy tale Peter Pan and the kids love it! We made pirate hats, peter pan hats, and danced the pirate dance. Tomorrow we will make treasure maps and search for buried treasure.
Tonight husband leaves for an AVID path training in Santa Cruz. Cooler weather and rain will greet him for his few days there. Mama can't sleep on the nights he is gone so hoping there is some good movies on tonight!
Here are some more photos of summer. Our trip to Morro Bay when I got my stitches out! A much needed get away for husband and I!

Germs come in all shapes and sizes!
Well It is week three of school and i'm already sick! this is a first as I usually do not get sick this early! Husband usually has September as his sick month not me. I guess we traded months this year! I just learned that taking extra vitamin D will help you stay healthy and build that immune system. I will definitely be trying that! Anything to keep those germs away! Remember gel in, gel out!

It's September and still hot! I have my first cold of the school year, (thank you Mateo!) Mateo has started first grade and loves it! He already missed two days of school due to a cold but is doing well now. This summer was amazing as always and went way to fast! We did make it to Arizona this summer to Chase Field which is the baseball stadium of the Arizona Diamondbacks. The boys are trying to visit them all in the USA and this one was close to San Diego so we checked that one off the list! In San Diego we found a hamburger place called Hodads and it was awesome! needless to say we ate there 3 times! Husband surprised me with a whale watching 3 hour tour on the ocean. We saw three blue whales and lots of dolphins. It was amazing!!! Throughout the year I will touch on something fun that we did this summer or as I think of it!

One room down, and three to go!
Ok so I finally started decorating for Christmas and the first room to be completed was my office. I love decorating my office room (that is what Mateo calls it) as I can make it as girly as I want! I have collected for several years most of the stuff in my office. I love vintage items so you can always find me at my local thrift stores as well as yard sales. One mans junk is another mans treasure right?! i have found some pretty amazing things and I don't like to pay to much for my treasures. That makes the hunt all the more fun!
Next to be decorated will be the family room/dining/kitchen. They are all connected in my little cottage house. Red, white, and silver will remain my colors of choice this year. Still waiting on husband to hang a few shelves before I can start. At least I can prepare the rooms by cleaning and de-cluttering. So much to do on this first day of December!
